About the Artist
Yaara Zach (born 1984) is a multidisciplinary artist known for integrating readymades and industrial materials, on which she infuses physical presence that explores the relation between the object and the physical body. Zach creates tensions between mediums, and offers alternative functions for objects and for the meanings and iconographies they carry. She blends visual elements traditionally associated with masculinity with those often considered feminine— though her practice transcends distinct gender themes, and invites complex reflection on formalistic materiality.
The featured artworks in Givon on Paper are considered rare in the artist's body of work. They reflect thought, planning, and intention— elements that accompany her complex and elaborated creative processes.
Among her awards and professional recognitions, Zach received the 2022 Ann and Ari Rosenblatt Prize for Visual Art, which was later followed by her solo exhibition “The Sun Sets Twice” (The Artists’ House, Tel Aviv 2024). Her work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions at Israeli and international venues, including The Israel Museum, Jerusalem; Tel Aviv Museum of Art; the Moscow International Biennale for Young Art; the Berardo Collection Museum, Lisbon; and Artport, Tel Aviv.
Yaara Zach's works are included in various private and public art collections, such as the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. She holds a BFA and an MFA from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, and also lectures and mentors BFA students at the School of Multidisciplinary Art in Shenkar, Israel.
