Daniel Tsal
Daniel Tsal (b. 1985, NYC) was trained as a painter and later transitioned to photography. He graduated from the Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem (2009) and furthered his studies at the Städelschule (Frankfurt), where he was mentored by Wolfgang Tillmans. Tsal is widely known for his photography, earning him the Lauren and Mitchell Presser Photography Award in 2019, followed by a solo exhibition at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art. In the wake of a personal loss, he embarked on a return to painting, infused with tension, beauty, and uncanniness. For more, see ‘About the Artist’ in the artworks’ pages:
