Grégoire Michonze

Grégoire Michonze (1902–1982) was a Russian-French painter. He described his work as "Surreal naturalism", and he is known as one of the Jewish members of L'École de Paris. Upon immigrating to Paris in 1922, he became acquainted with the surrealist circle and the members of L'École de Paris, such as Chagall, Frenkel, and Modigliani, with whom he was later associated with. He exhibited in significant exhibitions, including the Salon des Surindépendants (1934-1936), and his works are held in prominent collections, e.g. The Musée d'art moderne de Troyes, France.
