Aharon Avni
Aharon Avni (1906–1951) was an Israeli painter and a member of the ‘Massad’ group that operated in Tel Aviv, 1929-1930. He was the founder of the Avni Institute in Tel Aviv, and one of the founders of HaMidrasha – Faculty of the Arts, Beit Berl. He was mentored by Isaac Frenkel, a leading Jewish artist of the L’École de Paris. Throughout his career, he exhibited in various institutions, including solo shows at the Tel Aviv Museum (1936, 1944, and 1950). Among his accomplishments, he was awarded the Dizengoff Prize in 1937 and 1948. For more, see ‘About the Artist’ on the artwork page:
